v.0.0.1 Sword Combat Prototype Patch Notes


This build is mostly focused on seeing if stance switching and a blocking-heavy combat approach are fun, and getting better idea of what direction to take two unfinished mechanics: basic attacking and parrying

Features:

MOVEMENT-

-The player character has two stances that provide different buffs to the player.

-Defense: Decreased guard cost when blocking, increased knock-back resistance

-Speed: Increased movement speed, crouching while moving initiates a slide dodged

-Double Jump

-Ground jump can be held to leap higher, or tapped to bunny hop

-Air jump is static boost

COMBAT-

  • Blocking reduces your guard bar. When depleted your guard breaks and you cannot block until the guard bar has regenerated in full.
  • Parry: Time you block on a projectile well to clear screen of all projectiles (Under construction)
  • Basic Attack: Auto attacking in the melee range (Under construction)

MAP & MODES-

  • Combat Prototype Test: 9 levels of pure-action and increasing difficulty, can you complete them all?

ENEMIES-

  • Projectile Turret
    • Shoots single shots or bursts of 4. Easily blocked
  • Sniper Turret
    • Shoots line trace attacks after a wind up, high guard cost to block
  • Melee Slasher
    • Sweeping attacks in varying directions
  • Laser Beam
    • Tracks the enemy dealing damage on contact
